Win $10k for your NPO

YouTube has launched its 5th Annual DoGooder Non-Profit Video Awards. The Case Foundation will give out $10,000 grants to the video winners in four categories: Best Small Org Video, Best Medium Org Video, Best Large Org Video, and the newcomer — Best Thrifty Video. Winners will be featured on YouTube’s homepage.

88% Don't Separate their Work from Personal In-boxes

I attended an Webinar on email marketing put on by HubSpot and MailChimp. While I use Constant Contact myself, MailChimp offers great push email services also. For the Webinar MailChimp conducted a survey of email marketers and found some very interesting data points:

- 88% don't separate their work and personal in-boxes
- Thus weekends are actually good days for click-through rates
- Tuesday is the top day for Unsubscribes (maybe because most companies send out emails on Tuesdays)
- 81% say they read email on mobile devices - so test on those
- The more links in an email the more likely someone will click on one of them and LESS LIKELY that they will unsubscribe
- The most clicked on subject line terms include: Survey, Posts, Week's, e-Newsletter, Digest, giveaway, tips, video, news, latest and updates
- Give your email readers something "exclusive" that only they can get
- Celebrity Senders get opened
- People don't forward emails - what they may do is follow you on Twitter or Facebook
